A lot of those people are living in the boonies, natives on reserves and such. We should ensure that as close to possible, every Canadian has access to the internet, but it doesn't have to be a home service, ie it could be a shared service like at libraries etc.

When I was in MN, the apartment complex where my girlfriend lived had a "media" room where those that didn't have internet in their apartments could still access it. The complex even supplied the computers.

Welll.... When you leave your keys in the car overnight, and your car is gone the next day, is that theft or stupidity? When you don't lock up your house, and you come home and it is emptied, but no sign of break and entering (no need, right, door was open), is that theft or will you not get anything back from your insurance?

I make more than a few dollars setting routers up. Most people don't even have a clue what their WEP/WPA key is 90 seconds after they put it in. The other 90% can't even put one in they're too fucking stupid to RTFM.
I put in a WPA 'rememberable' pass-phrase that someone with an IQ of 60 could remember. Then I make a label with their SSID and passphrase and stick it on the underside of their router. 50% call in within a month and I have to tell them to turn their router over and look.....
No shit if 100% of Canadians had internet it would mean 90% are too stupid to know ow to use it instead of 70%

Oh horror, they have possibility to eat, wash themselve, have a walk and do something outeside The Canadian internet problem is obvious - no healthy competition between providers and monopolisation of this kind of service.
