i'm still a little surprised that Nova Scotia gave the ndp a majority but then the liberals and pc's both had majoritys at some point as well .

it be interesting to see where nova scotia heads after today now thats its under ndp rule , i somehow don't see it becoming a more prosperous place because of this vote . i'm from ontario and we had an ndp majority once and it was a disaster , it didn't last very long but then again nova scotia is a different place so maybe it will work out better out east than it did in ontario .

ok but being serious the federal ndp might see some benefit in nova scotia from this but only if this government become's popular if they become unpopular they could lose ground there . so it all depends on what happens . like the federal ndp had about a dozen seats in ontario back when the provincial ndp won in 1990 , they lost them all in 93 because the provincial ndp were so unpopular at that time , so it will really depend .

either way its safe to say nova scotia will never be the same and that may not be a good thing .

Well novachick, welcome to the club. Being conservative in a NDP province, isn't really fun.

If you're lucky Dexter will be like Manitoba's Gary Doer, and stay somewhat near the political centre, and you'll manage to get through it.

Although your debt will sour, with perpetual deficits, and you'll be even more addicted (than you already are) on federal equalization. That's what happened to Manitoba...

Businesses won't crash and burn, but it'll be harder to run one and economic growth will be stagnant.

That's the NDP future, enjoy.
