Are you suggesting that Mikey is not interested in the well being of the players and has ulterior motives for bringing this up? 8O 8O 8O

Looks like Montreal based Air Canada is chirping too. Seems they're worried about their image. ROTFL

A criminal conviction would make a mess of things. :)

If some cretin like PK Subban had put one of the Bruins into the boards headfirst no one would be saying anything, at least not to the level of hysteria (mostly generated by that idiotic Montreal media and asinine Quebec political culture) that's been going on the last two days. Yeah, maybe Chara should have been punted for the rest of the season but I didn't see anything else worse with that particular hit that anything else that goes on during the hockey season. And how many Montreal fans ever complained way back when about the antics of Claude Lemieux, one of the all-time dirtiest players to even step onto the ice, when he played for the Habs?

And the Liberals criticizing the NHL for lack of enforcement and punishment? Holy dogshit, how many limp-wristed laws did the Liberals pass and how many judges do Liberals appoint that ensure that so many murderers and rapists never get punished for the things that they like to? But now they've got the gall to bitch at the NHL (and on top of it do a sideways smear against the Conservatives in the process) for not having tough enough law and order? Fuck them, the slimy two-faced politician assholes.

We got more important things for the gov't and the opposition to deal with other than millionaire sports star's concussions.

EDIT* Funny how silent these two-faced assholes were when those teens got a one day sentence for beating someone to death!!
Where's the outrage there Iggy???

And why didn't Air Canada piss and moan when truly dirty hits were being delivered to other players? Oh yeah, it wasn't one of the Habs.

$1:
"I simply don't understand what the NHL is thinking here," Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff told reporters after the NHL made its decision. "It's up to the National Hockey League to protect its players. It's up to the National Hockey League to protect all the young kids playing the game. It's up to the National Hockey League to act and I can tell you, there is strong feeling in the House of Commons that if they don't act, then, you know, we should get involved. No politician wants to get involved in this, it's not our business. But as a citizens, as a fan, I think it's outrageous."

Well, as a citizen, I think it's outrageous that members of the House of Commons don't use those "strong feelings" you apparently have to protect my fellow citizens from the scum-of-the-earth murderers you can't bring yourselves to impose prison time on.

What an excellent idea. Let's get the Government involved in the enforcement of Professional Sports policies and punishments. It's as if we're not already living a fucking socialist paradise, where every other thing is government controlled.

Iggy should STFU and worry about how to hang on to his shakey position as liberal leader instead of running his mouth about things that aren't the Governments business.

Well, seems like Harper had plenty to say on the issue too.

How much you wanna bet if it was a European or Russian player that got nailed like that, not a peep would be coming from our politicians.
Wait, let me add, a European or Russian player NOT playing for a Canadian team.
