Not all Russian terorists are muslims, some of them are young assholes who want money by paying every price, even someone's life. Give independance to region that is scaryng by terorist groups will roll down to dictattorship, we have enought countries that are like that and they cause serious problems. Nukes, chemics, are in a good control. But during the past Russian regional war conflicts, Moscow generals were selling explosive materials for money to unknown people. Most of this stuff is well-using in the acts like that. In chechnya rare family is not owning AK-47(72) or few f8. That's the problem inside of Russia, Putin and Medvedev are not hurry up with it because it has some interest.

Putin isn't the type to be Politically Correct with individuals bombing Russian airports,and train stations. He is more likely to take them to the cellars in the Lubyanka and after an "enhanced" interrogation allow them die for their cause.

I know this is probably a few hundred years too early but things like this won't stop happening until all people are treated equally. If we ever evolve as a species to care more about mankind�s future instead of caring about one's self and greed & power we may someday see a peaceful world and things like this won�t happen, but that isn�t going to happen in my lifetime. I can only hope someday or mankind is probably doomed.

The Russians are terrible at fighting terrorism and cases like this is perfect evidence that repression doesn't work.

All the butchery and plundering by Russian forces in the Caucasian republics has not solved the inherent problems facing the regions and the Russian and Caucasian peoples.

I don't think strong arm tactics have worked once in Russia over the past few years. The Breslan (sp?) massacre was made worse when Russian special forces stormed the school and we had 300 dead hostages (school children). Then there was the Moscow theatre massacre with the Chechen widows, Russian forces stormed, we had hundreds of dead hostages again.

Evidently, Russians don't learn.

And wing nuts here shout from the sidelines "yeah go gettem that's what our weak and timid governments should be doing".

Dirty commie. You should know greed is good. How can we run a capitalist society without greed, and we all know that only capitalism can allow democracy to flourish.

As for being a few hundred years too early, humans have been behaving this way for at least 200,000 years, so I think your time scale might be off a bit. Greed and power is hardwired in. As is altruism, but I doubt we'll get to a society that nourishes the latter in a couple of hundred years.

I'm reading comments that are somewhat sympathetic to the terrorists, because of how poorly Russia has treated them. Do we in the west then bear no responsibility for when terror attacks are directed against us? Are the West's hands totally clean here? Certainly if this happened at Pearson International, we wouldn't be talking about root causes right now.
