Brenda Brenda: Not everything that is legal should be condoned. Like inter-racial marriages? Marrying or dating outside of ones faith? Condoned is quite frankly not your business concerning the relationship of 2 people you have never met. I'm sure his parents will deal with the situation but its wrong to think the law has a right to intercede as clearly this was a conscious choice by them. Extremely creepy I'll agree but then again I'd find the same thing if he were 19 and she were 50. Even Procs example seems creepy to me.

Nothing about people I have never met is my business, nor is it yours, no matter what your opinion about it is. Pot use is illegal, yes lots of people have no problem with it and condone it. (hence my edit ) I have no idea what race or religion have to so with this tho... Especially not when it comes to me I seriously do not care what religion, colour, nationality or whatever someone has. The fact that a 42 year old is screwing with a 16 year old, mentally and physically, is flat out wrong. You mentioned "dependancy" in your quote, right? OF COURSE he is dependent. HE cant afford to pay for the motels or gas. She has to. I'd call that financial dependancy. He ain't 18 yet, she is too old. Sue her.

Brenda Brenda: Pot use is illegal, yes lots of people have no problem with it and condone it. (hence my edit ) Yes but you are saying it shouldn't be condoned. That implies you think it is your business. I'm saying that since its not against the law its their business and not mine. Brenda Brenda: I have no idea what race or religion have to so with this tho... Especially not when it comes to me I seriously do not care what religion, colour, nationality or whatever someone has. The fact that a 42 year old is screwing with a 16 year old, mentally and physically, is flat out wrong. They are both things that other people say should not be condoned. The fact is that just because you think its wrong doesn't mean it is nor does it mean anybody has a right to dictate to them. Brenda Brenda: You mentioned "dependancy" in your quote, right? OF COURSE he is dependent. HE cant afford to pay for the motels or gas. She has to. I'd call that financial dependancy. He ain't 18 yet, she is too old. Sue her. So if he had a job (and you don't know his financial situation do you?) you would be OK with it? What about when he is 17 in a few months? Why draw the line at 18? Why not 21? How about we consider any age difference more then 10 years to be wrong. Now you are going to respond that its different because he's a child but the fact is he is 16 and fully entitled to make that decision whether you like it or not.

Brenda Brenda: Tricks Tricks: He's getting high fives from his friends and you all know it. If he was my friend, and I was his age, I would slap him upside the head and tell him he is a fool, and that when he is 30, she is almost retired, while he might be thinking of starting a family. You think he's in this for a relationship?

No it doesn't appear there are charges pending and the police were only involved because of the disappearance factor not the age factor. What charges are they going to file when I've shown that the law is on their side?

its not all about what the laws are.16 is not an adult yet.
if he was at a hospital trying to check out a new born baby, the 42 year old mother would have to sign. if he was trying to buy some gravol for a new born, it is very likely the pharmacist would not allow him to purchase it after he shows his ID and the pharmacist sees that he is under 18.
16 is a huge grey zone, have you forgotten what it was like?

16 is a huge grey zone, have you forgotten what it was like? Well I think gravol is sold over the counter but so what? It actually IS what the laws are and as creepy as this is they haven't broken any. In fact people younger then him have sex and have babies. In fact I do remember what it was like to be 16. I knew everything and nobody but nobody was going to tell me what to do least of all my parents. That's what being 16 is.

yet, the number one reason why 16 year olds don't smoke pot or have sex is because they dont want to disappoint their parents. I hope you maintain a more moral point of view with your children, you might actually have a positive influence on them.

It might be just as accurate to say the number one reason they have sex and smoke pot is to piss their parents off. Its also disturbing that you seem to think your morals are the ones everybody should be teaching children. Myself I think I'll treat my children with the belief that they can make decisions like this on their own with the knowledge that I believe they'll make the right one.

And, my guess is the "piss their parents off" is a main reason, but peer pressure is probably the number one reason for pot smoking. hormones is probably the number one reason for sex. $1: Its also disturbing that you seem to think your morals are the ones everybody should be teaching children. I think there is a difference between expressing a moral believe, and concluding that it should be forced upon everyone else. I like beer, but I've never hog tied anyone and poured beer down their throat. My children will be given the same belief, but if they are to be influence by their peers and hormones, then I certainly don't see any harm in offering them the point of veiw from an adult thtat cares a great deal about them.

I think yoiu miss my point. I have nothing against this 16 year old having sex. I don't think he is smart by doing it with a 42 year old married woman, but whatever. My point is HER. First, she is married, second, her son is probably older.
It may not be a crime. I still think she is wrong by doing what she is doing. And lets be honest, if it was reversed, all hell would have broken loose and he would be called a pervert. She is one too.
