Actually, I've been attending RUH quite a bit lately. As well as the other two hospitals in S'toon. I've found them quite well run. There is so much construction going on there (new car parks, new kids hospital) something like this could unfortunately happen.
Even when you send out search parties? I'm sorry but someone fucked up royally and this guy may have died because of it. People don't normally walk into hospitals if they aren't sick and for the record, the headline stating the "72 year old man found dead near is RUH" is utter bullshit because his body was found on the hospitals "main floor". Talk about deflection.
I was born in the old City Hospital but I thankfully never had the privilege of being in any of the cities hospitals again. Although I do know that back then the U because of the fact it was a "research" facility was supposedly the best one in the city but, when my Aunt almost died twice on two separate visits I and our families started thinking that the hype may have exceeded the performance.
So it's good to know that they've improved over the decades but they and the search parties still shouldn't be exonerated for this clusterfuck.
I'm not trying to exonerate anyone here, I'm only relaying my experience. I have had a few years of good experiences (well, good in that I received excellent care there, bad in it sucks to have cancer)
A screw up for sure, but as I don't know where in the hospital he was found (sitting on a chair by information or behind a construction wall, hidden), his state of mind when he came in or what his reason for being there (visiting his sick wife or just wandered in or a psyche case) I think I will wait and see before I call for the place to be torn down.
