Good riddance. The Queen is his commander-in-chief. Of course you are going to salute her. If you want to be in the military, and don't like it, then grow a pair and suck it up. The military is about proffesionalism, not personalism. You don't bring your opinions in with you, only your workign attitude.

He must have sworn an oath to the Queen when he joined so why didn't he make any protest back then.

It would have been a show stopper in his drive to become an Officer in the CF and enjoy all the rights and priviledges thereof.

He had his fingers crossed so he felt it didn't count.

Refusing to state your allegiance to your head of state in lawful matters is utter nonsense.

The military is no doubt better off without this fool who thought that his political opinions mattered one whit at all once he put on a uniform.

Yes legally, he has inadvertantly signed onto a 7 year hitch in the stockade in Edmonton and a dishonourable discharge---(no pension).

No one spends seven years in Club Ed. I believe the most time you can spend there is two years less a day. Any more than that and off you go to a federal pen, which is like Club Med compared to Club Ed.

Besides, he has not been charged with anything and I don't expect to see any charges.

The courts and the legal parties have confused the "queen" and the "crown." Kings and queens come and go, but the "crown" lives on. It's the spirit of the crown that we sear allegiance to, and the queen represents that spirit. At the coronation the archbishop lifts the crown above the alter, prays, then places the crown on the person in-line for succession. The "crown" is the unifying spirit of our constitution. The British civil service, copies by many nations of the world, grew out of the King's and Queen's court. Most of the top ten "best nations to live in" are monarchies or ex-monarchies. The "Royal Family" represents that spirit, and try to live exemplary lives and to care for the people of the realm.

That's because there aren't enough garbage cans to polish.

We should do away with the Queen and instate a new figure head in our goverment. I suggest all troops swear their allegance to the beaver.

Post him. He needs to get in touch with his roots as a Patricia.

I am trying to imagine what kind of living hell it would be for him in the Mess at the 2nd Battalion. A couple years at Club Ed might look pretty good after that.
