martin14 martin14: I keep trying to post something itt, and I just can't.
What a waste of time and money, Trump told the US he was going to stop this stupid shit of constant war.
I wonder who talked him into the McCain/Obama/Hillary/MSM war drum gang. This.

Sounds like the main influence came from his own daughter: https://thinkprogress.org/ivanka-trump- ... 186dc508a1$1: Ivanka Trump — an official government employee without military experience but with her own White House office— reportedly influenced President Donald Trump’s decision to strike against Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad last week, according to her brother Eric Trump.
Trump authorized a U.S. missile attack on a Syrian airbase on Friday in response to a chemical weapons attack allegedly committed by the Assad regime that killed scores of people, including more than 30 children.
“Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence. I’m sure she said: ‘Listen, this is horrible stuff,’” Eric Trump told The Telegraph. Up next, Ivanka demands the head of John Kasich on a silver platter. Change the title of the B-movie going on in the White House to Herod & Salome 2: Electric Boogaloo.

BartSimpson BartSimpson: ...Ping me when we dispatch three more carriers and forward deploy B-1's to Yakota and B-2's to Guam. Why Guam? I read a critique that Guam was used for one purpose only: bombing Japan in World War 2. It's been useless since. I understand that and agree. Using this as an example, why not forward deploy B-2's to Pearl Harbor-Hickam? Seriously, what does Guam do that Hickam cannot?

Andersen has air conditioned hangars designed to house the B-2, Hickam does not.

During World War 2, aircraft technology of the day had limited range. Bombing Japan with propeller driven aircraft required an air base that close. Today, commercial passenger aircraft can fly from Los Angeles to Tokyo in one flight. If you really have to, bombers at Hickam can do the job. Today, with modern technology, Hickam is forward positioning. A long bombing run would be from Minot, ND, to North Korea.

Putting them to a forward base is as effective as using them... to a sane foe. Hopefully the advisors on both sides can help maintain sanity.

The B-2 can operate worldwide from Whiteman AFB and they've done this by leveraging aerial refueling. The problem there is that the aircrew is exhausted after a 36 hour mission. That's why Andersen AFB in Guam is often used for the B-2. In both Gulf Wars the B-2 operated out of Andersen for operations in Iraq and then Afghanistan, too. Hickam was never equipped for the B-2 because it's not far enough from the USA to make the investment worthwhile.

Ok, Whiteman. Do that. Close the base in Guam. Also close Guantanamo; remember the ambassador from Cuba to the US has formally asked for Guantanamo back. That happened right after Obama formally re-opened diplomatic relations with Cuba. And continue by closing many or most of the 800+ foreign military bases.
As for North Korea: they respond to sabre rattling by rattling their own sabre. If you don't like their sabre rattling, then stop threatening them. They aren't going to do squat. They would only take action *AFTER* the US invades their soil like the US did with Afghanistan and Iraq. That's what they're worried about. This mouse will not submit, cornering this mouse results in the mouse roaring. Why do you care if a mouse roars? If you don't like the little squeak coming from that mouse, then stop stepping on their tail.

Some mice need their tails stepped on. If anyone might sell nukes to terrorists, these dicks will. Iran has oil for foreign cash, they don't NEED to.

You're not running for the Libs anymore,so you don't need to be cranking out the BS.

China Warns North Korea Situation Has Hit "Tipping Point", Threatens "Never Before Seen" Measures After warnings yesterday, and on the heels of a "very good call" with President Trump, China has escalated its threats to North Korea over its nuclear tests. In another Global Times op-ed, China warns "if the North makes another provocative move this month, the Chinese society will be willing to adopt severe restrictive measures that have never been seen before..." Yesterday's editorial in the military-focused Global Times tabloid, owned and operated by the Communist Party's People's Daily newspaper, said that North Korea’s nuclear activities must not jeopardize northeastern China, and that if the North impacts China with its illicit nuclear tests through either "nuclear leakage or pollution", then China will respond with force. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-1 ... e-escalate
