Update: The US Air Force conducted a 'rush' delivery of nuclear coolant to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. This has potentially averted a melt down as the plant operators were unable to get enough electrical power to run the cooling pumps.

Sadly, Tokyo is overdue for a monster quake just like this one.

Edo/Tokyo had one about every 75 years for hundreds of years - and the last one was in 1923 and it killed 140,000 people. As bad as this one is, imagine if it hit the world's largest city.
