Well, whomever the kook that the Greens run in my riding is, it won't be May and it won't beat Schellenberger. If I thought they actually had a chance of winning, I wouldn't vote that way. But I think the Libs and Cons might learn something about entitlement if a 3rd party grabs a decent percentage of the vote.

Right-wing economic ideology, more often than not, is more economically efficient. The free-market is the least worst for deadweight and administrative costs.

If the right-wing were actually more free-market than the left, you might have a point there. In fact, it was Paul Martin in Canada who pulled us out of huge deficit spending and Brian Mulroney who introduced the GST (although, to his credit, he also brought us NAFTA). Similarly in teh US, it was Bill Clinton that reigned in an era of relative prosperity and right-winger George Bush who racked up the largest deficits and the biggest government expansion since WWII.

The idea that the right wing is any more fiscally responsible than the left is a myth. fact is, bioth parties are very close to the centre of the bell curve, and their fiscal policies aren't all that different.

Economic efficiency ain't all it's cracked up to be anyways.

I don't see any big spending boondoggles like the gun registry, ADSCAM or Ontario's E-health scandals comming from the Right side though. Even the stimulous spending had to be forced out under coalition threat.

Michael Ignatieff is back.

After 34 long years abroad, he's back and tired of waiting for power.

We must take his threat to force an unwanted election seriously and be prepared to fight a national election campaign next month. That's why I'm writing to you today: to ask you to make a contribution of $200 or $100 right now by following this link.

Michael Ignatieff is not a patient man.

He has been party leader for only half a year, an MP for a little longer. That's a long, long time for someone with a strong sense of entitlement to wait for what he feels he is owed:

Ignatieff wants the power he feels he's entitled to, and has signed his name to the Coalition deal with the Bloc and NDP to get it.
Ignatieff wants Canadians to pay for an unnecessary and wasteful election.
Ignatieff wants to implement a higher tax-and-spend regime on Canadians.

The problem is that Ignatieff wants all of this just when our economy is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He wants to force a $300 million election on taxpayers even as our economic action plan is starting to beat off a global recession and only 12 months after the last federal election.

Canada cannot afford a Prime Minister who is just visiting.

To you and I, Ignatieff's threats to force an election are absurd and irresponsible.

However, we have to believe he'll do it, and we must be prepared to make our case to Canadians should an unwanted election be called. The Conservative Party of Canada needs your help because our economic future is at stake.

When he starts, let us know. The Country has been waiting for something of substance, but beyond baseless threats, no policy & no platform, perhaps he should shit or get off the pot.

Ken, I'm just calling it as I see it. Not being partisan here and you have seen me post less than supportive stuff on Harper.
I just think this threatening a 'no confidence' vote is playing into Harper's hands mate.

Iggy has way more to lose on this. Harper can just hunker down and dig in. Personally I don't think the CPC will get a majority but the Libs won't beat Harper at this time either.
Maybe in a year or two they would have a decent chance but a fall election will spell the end of Iggy.
