I agree. Especially when you folks never had any intention of making a 2% GDP investment in defense.

2% NATO spending was agreed back in 2006.



We haven't spent 2% on the military since the 90's, maybe.


Actually, the most recent agreement was from 2014, which probably was a follow-up to the 2006 agreement.

And yes, you're right, we haven't spent 2% of GDP on the military since 1990:

Basically, the second the USSR dissolved, so did our military spending, however in fairness, nearly every NATO member (including the US) took a 'peace dividend' and cut defence spending in the '90s.
