There is no shock to see Rittenhouse get off, just as the lynching of Arbery will also be seen as justice.

Aren't there anti-vigilantism laws they could have prosecuted this clown for? He had his mother drive him into Kenosha on some half-cocked idea of fighting the rioters, alone, without any kind of coordination (great logistics and strategy there, champ!) without any kind of sanction from law enforcement.

Self-defence is one thing, but this dumbkaupf arguably broke the law when he went looking to start a fight in the first place.

Nothing on the books at this time to prevent that. Now if the KKK were to hold a rally and someone gets in a pickup and runs them over I bet there would be a change in the laws overnight.

Nice job mom, raising an upstanding young man and conspiracy to murder. I bet you bought him the gun too. Brings a tear to my eyes.

"The People" are shit too and entirely deserve what happens to them. I've had enough of the pretense that there's anything worth salvaging, let it all collapse and turn to fucking dust.

Don't let the bastards grind you down.

In a way, Thanos is correct that there's a violent history in the USA, and this incident is like something out of the Wild West. The only difference is that Rittenhouse didn't go into town and have a shootout at high noon.

Ultimately though, I agree with you because he went there with a firearm thinking he was a Batman or some shit, looking for a fight.

Had he just been passing through and shot and killed two people it would be different, but he put himself in harm's way deliberately AFTER arming himself and so shouldn't get to claim self-defence. However, the US has a lot of crazy ass laws that still reflect their Wild West history and that allowed Rittenhouse to get away scot free with murdering two people.

The best we can hope for is that Rittenhouse takes it upon himself to do the same shit again and that time karma bites him in the ass. If that doesn't happen, at least we can take comfort that Canada doesn't have ridiculous laws that allow vigilantism.

Thanos Thanos:
More like the media is so lazy they can't pay attention to more than one issue at a time. No conspiracy or false flags, just they won't do any hard work any more if it doesn't generate enough clicks & ratings for them. It's like running a newspaper or news channel according to same rules a magazine for 14 year old girls operates by - "what's hot today? Rittenhouse! what's not hot? career criminal mowing down dozens of people with his car".

One of the more liberal sites I go to couldn't be bothered to mention Waukesha at all today. Instead they had a story about some anti-Jake Gyllenhall campaign being conducted by some high school girls because the kids are mad at him for dirting Taylor Swift ten years ago when they were dating. That source I used to go to had been deleted from my bookmarks as of today, as have at least three other ones that are deliberately avoiding Waukesha because it doesn't suit their narrative or ratings needs.

Fuck all the media, period. Every single one of them, no matter what side they're on, is a filthy disgusting rat bastard ideologue. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

Right? Television news used to be different. At the end of 10 minutes you'd get the big story. At the end of 30 minutes you'd know the headlines, and if you watched the full hour you'd get some local news and a "human interest" piece, maybe an in-depth interview with someone.

But now it's just one story for weeks on end. So much it turns cannibalistic as news reporters from one outlet interview reporters from another, or CNN does a whack-job on Fox. We don't need 15 stations with 24/7 news.

There's still heroes out there. Journalists regularly disappear in Mexico for speaking out. Saudi Arabia had one straight up murdered and bone-sawed in their embassy. I think I've only seen one journalist--one--interview those poor migrants stuck between Belarus and Poland.

But CNN, Fox, MSNBC--all completely corrosive to civilized society. I have a soft-spot for the CBC and their clumsy attempts to maintain the status quo and inculcate their idea of what it means to be Canadian (e.g. never mention transfer payments to Quebec), but recognize they are as biased in their own way as the rest.

We live in a post-objective world. The authorities of old--the priests, the kings, the politicians, the staid old newspapers, the scientists--all lying in the sand like the broken statue of Ozymandias, replaced by a million bloviating idiots howling their Jabberwocky to the voids of cyberspace.
