Canuckism Canuckism:
I wonder if he got in quicker?

What for? If he can do that, he had nothing to do at the ER in the first place.

Man cold, methinks...

He thinks 45 minutes was unnaceptable ?

Last time I was in a hospital was in Hull on the Québec side. The triage nurse stated my BP was a little kooky and promised me a bed that never happened then I waited 4 hours for EKG and then an additional 12 hours to see the doctor who treated me like I was wasting her fucking time.

I'd take 45 minutes any day.

He thought 45 minutes at the emergency was long. [huh]

Must not go to the hospital very often... that is... never.

A child with a 41+ fever ain't an emergency in The Netherlands either, and cutting off half of your finger won't make them go any faster either, nor does a child who fell on her head not responding for a minute or 2...

Just curious, how come you didn't go to a family doctor with a strep throat?

That makes sense, although I think in a country as Canada, that shouldn't be happening. I really think it is a disgrace... Everybody should have access to a family doctor, period.

Lived 10 minutes from the Hull hospital and always took the trip into Ottawa. Had a doctor in the Gatineau Hospital actually recommend never going to the Hull Hospital. geesh when doctors tell you to avoid hospitals things are getting bad.

But yeah, no one in the Capital region would believe you if you said you clear dteh ER in 45 minutes. Even here in Winnipeg that is twice as fast on a good day.

Guy needed some meds prescribed for patience.

Oddly enough my fastest ER visit was in Brazil; 15 minutes!!!! Granted it was in a private hospital and we had private insurance. The rest of the poor locals had to risk death at home or waiting in the street to get into the ER. Regardless, it was still 15 minutes in a 2nd world country compared to here. Second fastest, half hour in Germany and they were able to run all the tests needed within an hour of us seeing a doctor and get results.

Canadian Health Care rocks

I had nothing but bad experiences in that Hull Hospital.

I had pneumonia as an infant I was going into convulsions and the doctor told my
father to give me baby apirins and If I wasn't better to bring me back on monday.
My father lost it and nearly ended up with assault charges he raised such a comotion another doctor took a look at me and kept me over the weekend.

Another time when I tore my ACL. Two exra technicians watched I was I tried moved myself onto the table for an xray. Once it was clear the attending doctor told me to come back the next morning when the specialist was in. Fine I said, can I get some crutches.

No sorry, the pharmacy closed two hours ago you have to buy them.

Can I get a wheel chair ?

No sorry no wheel chairs around.

I fucking lost it. Did they think i was going to throw myself on the floor and crawl out ? Then when I saw the ACL specialist the next day. He said your "probably" going to need an operation we can do it this afternoon.

Probably ? I asked. I asked what he would do if it was him. He hated that question and refused to answer it. I told him I think I'm probably going to wait and see if it heals own

Rather that befor they gas me out and slice me open and wake up with a fucking leg amputated or something.

It eventually healed on its own. He was suprised.

When my sister was a kid she use to get really bad knee cramps meaning the muscles in her knee would seize up which made it very painful and the closer she bent her knee the more it hurt.

My parents took her there after one of these painful episodes and of course they send her for x-rays the nurse threw a fit because she wouldn't straighten out her leg. My mother lost it since that's why she was there in the first place took my sister to the General in Ottawa, doctor knew what was going on right away and just massaged her knee to relax the muscles.

I surprised that hospital hasen't been sued into oblivion yet to be honest
