Here's teh problem with staying--you may as well teach advanced Victorian tea eitquette to pack of outrgaed baboons as bring "democracy" to Afghanistan. It doesn't matter how mnay times you instrcut the baboons that they should lift their pinkies just so as they lift the tea galss to thier liops, sooner or later, they're gonna wind up flinging feces at each other.

Here's the problem with leaving guys... It makes those deaths almost meaningless. If we can't help/fix this country, then soldiers from around the world died for nothing in a long, costly and pointless war.

I think even the honoured dead would agree that there comes a point when you have to cut the umbilical cord and let the thing live or die on it's own accord. If you stay too long the country becomes addicted to the support and can never run on it's own.
