Benn Benn: bootlegga bootlegga: Pretty stupid behaviour if you ask me. Who doesn't lock their doors in a big city, even in Canada? If you don't want to lock the door, at least have an alarm system and set the perimeter alarm before you go to bed. Hey stay calm and remember he might one day be in charge of our national security! Sleep well Canada It must be horrible to be so frightened all the time.

It must be horrible to be so frightened conservative all the time. That's what you really meant, isn't it?

But you are correct to the point that the entire Conservative (the party, not the ideology) is based on fear and loathing.

Zipperfish Zipperfish: But you are correct to the point that the entire Conservative (the party, not the ideology) is based on fear and loathing. If you mean this seriously, I don't agree. It has been shown that conservatives (the people who hold the ideology) are more fearful than liberals. Obviously this will come out in the CPC policies to some degree. But entire, that's way over the top. A lot of it is well meaning, just seeing things from a different perspective than other parties. A lot of it I even agree with, at least to some extent. We need both legs to stand on as a country: individual and state responsibility.

andyt andyt: DrCaleb DrCaleb: That's my thoughts too. It doesn't matter if I like their politics or recreational activities; no one deserves that kind of message being sent in their own home. We in Canada have kept politics and family separate for a long time, and families of politicians don't need to be treated like that. 6 butcher knives laid out in a row - that's a pretty concerning message. Apparently you deserve it, if you smoke pot. Or I'm told some say that.

Hang on while I make a call and check if somewhere just froze over. But, with that said I've got a question. Could you post the link to the study that says "Conservatives are more fearful than Liberals", because I'd like to compare it to the "Conservatives are Happier than Liberals" study. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/08/opini ... .html?_r=0

Don't care. I'm just glad to be happier than the Liberals despite the fact that the world is one giant shithole. Liberals as a group appear to be far more sensitive and out of touch with the harsh realities of the world than Conservatives are. I guess that's all right because, in this case the inherent inability to properly perceive danger is exactly what made numerous groups of humans throughout history extinct.

Actually, mild to moderately depressed people have a far more accurate view of the world than happy ones.
