I find it hard to believe he wrote this. Would you seriously want your final words to be remembered as a partisan attack on the government? Then again once a politician...Anyway RIP Mr. Layton

Odds are some PR hack wrote it up when it became apparent he was going to lose his battle and he was just asked to sign his name at the bottom. He might not even have understood what he was signing.

To be honest, that part kind of ruined it for me. The rest of the message seems to be pretty genuine and heartfelt, if a little cliche at times, but that line is just so partisan and frankly unneccesary that it's hard to overlook it.
