So the British media is willing to slander both the British and Canadian military, it's soldiers and reputation in order to sell some news papers? Fantastic.

If it would let me sell $100,000 worth of paper for $1,000,000 I'd say just about anything about your or my mother.

And both CTV and CBC featured it on their website.

I thnk I have mentioned once or twice what a bunch of lazy liars I think our media are.

The G20 confirmed my suspicions and now they are just looking for dirt on anything about the Afghan mission they can find.

Somebody seriously needs to start making the media responsible for what they say, if they do crap like this there should be investigations of the news source instead of the military. In exchange for money they are damaging the image of Canadians and the war effort worldwide. I would love to see a reporter taken to court for slander.

Most of the hardcore CBC readers hate anything to do with the military and openly cheer any story that reflects badly on the forces, substantiated or not.

Check this quote

$1:
Get real. Before Canada invaded there was almost no heroin coming out of Afghanistan. Now $1 trillion a year is exported, more that enough to satisfy every junkie on earth. Afghanistan is now the #1 heroin exporter on earth.

If they actually exported 1 trillion a year, Afghanistan would have a GDP larger then Britain.

Facts don't seem to matter with our media outlets anymore.

Most of that 1 trillion, if indeed it is, goes to the various dealers along the way. The poppy farmers don't see on 100th of that. This person is doing what the cops do - basing the value on individual doses sold on the street. Or just exaggerating altogether.

But you know, the output of BC bud is given in billions. That's weed, and a much smaller amount of it. (Relatively speaking anyway). So I don't know, a trill doesn't seem like that much.

It is true that under the Taliban, poppy production dropped to practially nil because they were agin it. Once we came in to rescue the country, the warlords we support and protect of course took it up in a big way again, and so did the Taliban to finance their fight.
