He should have appoint when Parliament is in session, not before. To do it now reeks of sheer desperation and vindictiveness.

Also, CKA wasn't barley even a board when Jean was running the country. I joined in 2004 and Jean was out of office in 2003 and I am one of the more senior posters on this board Thanos.

The members list says 2001 but it could be wrong.

I think thats left over residue from when the site had the numbers meltdown. Remember when it said everybody was 31 years old?

Better then what happened the time when people were being logged in as other people. That was troubling to say the least.

Ya,I thought it was older then 4 or 5 years though.

I think CKA was started in 2004 though I can't be sure. The same date question came up when manifest destiny was able to dole out 5 rep points per because of his listed join date which was listed as 2001 also.

Thats where I learned that the date was erroneously set by some unknown error.

RUEZ RUEZ:
You really expect any change in the senate when it's loaded with Liberals? The ignorance here is astounding.

Yeah I agree the ignorance of the Conservatives posters in this thread is astounding.

RUEZ RUEZ:

And Dion said he wouldn't for a coalition.

While we're at it.. how's that National Childcare program comming.
It was only announced some 10 years ago.

Careful Riden, the lefties don't like it when their hypocrisy is pointed out.

Hypocrisy..oh yeah, you and RR have lots of it.

As far as I've seen, a lot of the truly partisan (hard core) right wing people on here are major hypocrites. They bash the Liberals for accepting Belinda Stronach, yet revel in accepting David Emerson. They bash the Liberals for not getting rid of the GST, but ignore Harper's election promise not to tax income trusts. They bash the Liberals for cutting defence spending, but give Harper a pass on cancelling critical projects like the JSS, SAR planes, and heavy icebreakers. They hate the Liberals for proposing to work with the Bloc, yet ignore the Conservatives work with them for hte past two years, and even Harper's proposed coalition with the Bloc (that never worked out because Layton told them to fuck off). The list goes on and on and on and on.

Then when confronted with the facts, the worst any of them will say is, "I don't much care for it, but you know the Liberals ...". Their tone of course changes to to a "frothing at the mouth mad like a rabid dog" when discussing Liberal politics.

There are of course exceptions (Thanos and Poquas for example), but many Conservative hacks here just get swept up in rhetoric and refuse to even look at the problem rationally. Truth and logic are irrelevant to their argument/attitude. Instead terms like coup, traitor, socialist are liberally (pun intended) tossed around like hand grenades and the whole thing just bogs down into a game of name calling. Check any of the threads on the coalition last week and you'll see it to be true.

The truly hilarious thing is that NOT one of you even has the balls to admit Harper is breaking yet another of his party's promises, to reform the Senate.

Whatever, it's par for the course with you hacks...

Thanos Thanos:
Awesome. And it's endlessly satisfying to see the Liberal supporters on CKA start to bitch and whine about the powers of the PMO that they never complained about when Chretien was doing the exact same thing.

Ten bucks says also that the future Tory senators can have their paycheques mailed directly to their home addresses instead of to some Mexican beach resort where the Liberal senators are usually hanging out.

well said R=UP

Another reason not to go back to the bastards. Senate reform has always been a core value of the Reform/Alliance parties. But Harper knowing he might actually be in trouble would rather adopt a "scorched earth" policy and break another promise.

Unbelievable!

Le's considre for a moment that the Liberals with Chretien won, on the promise of removing the GST and thre well known shill Copps promising to leave the Commons if they did not. They didn't and she resigned for all of two minutes before Chretien called a by-election - therby wsting taxpayer money - for her benefit only

Or we can talk about the Librals blatant disregard for our service people saftety when they forced them to continue to fly Helicopters long past thier service life by Cancelling the EH progeam, And then having to pay hundreds of millions in penalty fees

Or we can talk about Liberal senators who showed up for about 2% of the ime to be paid millions of dollars for the tenure of said Senator

Or we can talk about Adscam where more millions of tax-payer money was wasted and diret kick backs to the Liberal party were made

Or we can talk about the Kyoto protocal that the liberals signed, never brought never brought to the Commons when they had a majority. And who was the Enviroment Minister at that time and who named his Dog 'Kyoto". So why wan't the then Enviroment Minsiter pushing for the protoal to be voted on, why wan't he out in the perss demanding that the commons vote on it. Why wasn;t stading up for his own principles? Very simple really, he was, is and always will be a party man and the parties interests. and the Liberal parties interets have, are and always will come before the good of country

Or we can talk about the gun registry that was supposed to cost Candians 2 million when its actually costing 3 billion.

Or we can talk how Chretien didn't even know the price of a litre of milk when asked at a Town Hall.

Or we can talk about how the Liberal party says it doesnt support the Iraq war when Candian troops we're there witht he U.S from the beggining with the reponsiblity being the corrupt Martin Adminstration

Or we can talk about that in order to save tax payers more money he wanted to bring in legislation that Tax-payers shouldn't have to suopprt politcal parties and the left went nuts. It wasn't enough that the left in this country has wasted billions of dollars, they wanted to continue to reach into the wallets of Canadians for even more money.

Or we can talk about how a preplanned 'caolition' of the left blew up in their faces after people realized the cost that would have to be made to sastify the desire of the BQ, and that it wasn't about any real concern about the country, but thier own private pork barreling. All this from Dion who was several touted several times as the man to lead Canada and a strong Federalist. The question was asked why was a man who claimed to make a name for himself by standing up to Seperatist in Quebec and the House of Commons all of sudden getting into bed with them?

Answers to all of these questions are that pure party interests take precdence above all else

Prime Minister Harper irritates Liberals, because the Libreals instead tried to capture the left and extreme left and the CPC has taken the road of true moderates in this country. They have sound finicial plans that helps everyday Candians. the left in this country is sadly out of touch with the realites of daily life, especially now.

Or we can talk about you.

You've already godwin'ed several threads and thrown out the 'facist' line becuase you, like all Liberals are simply bankrupt of anything better to say. You're incensed that Primie Minsiter had steered the country along the mdoerate road of fiscal responsibility.

You call conservatives 'Hacks'. You do that because because you do't like the reality is that the Left have manouvered themslevs into being a Party which continously destroys itself. Pick leaders of questionable intelligence, credibility and ideas. So the only thing you have left is to call people 'facists'

Actually, you're wrong, but that doesn't surprise me, as you usually are. I've only called one person a facist in one thread, and that was you. Like I said, if you live in a glass house, don't throw stones...

What no comment on any of Harper's flip flops? Of course, not you're a hypocrite! I also notice you've conveniently avoided repsonding to any of his flip flops in the Michael Ignatieff, in his own words thread (which you started. Typical ploy, post and run away. But then again, you're a hypocrite. You have no problem pointing out the other side's flaws, but refuse to see the warts on your own leaders face.

I think you're the one who needs to grow up, face facts, and accept reality as it is, not as it is presented by the blue propaganda machine.
