Actually, this sounds much better than to simply subsidize the ''spoiled'' artists themselves.

$1:
“We have a platform that increases support for culture but in a way that respects taxpayers money,” he told reporters Monday.

He would have gotten a better response to today's announcement if he had promised to fund it by cutting the CBC budget by an equivalent amount.

why is it a flip flop..my daughter wants to take piano lessons better spent on the youth than some piece of crap art like a frog in a blender or a jar full of Mexican jizz.

roadie's crack....or buyying the groceries for some
weirdo who makes a nativity scene out of goats' assholes.

Sounds like a good idea.
Far better than Jihad jack's nationalize the arts program.
Parents know better for their kids than some bureaucrat in Ottawa, and now they can get financial aid for those programs. A far ways from the "beer & popcorn" crap the Liberals were spouting.

Its a flip flop because.. he cuts funding to the arts and then to buy Quebecers votes he "In an apparent attempt to win back vital ground in Quebec, Conservative Leader Stephen Harper announced Monday he would provide a $150-million tax credit to help get kids interested in the arts." He is losing ground faster than lightening in Quebec because of the cuts and because of his wanting to send 14 yr olds to prison for life. Quebecers are cultural people who value the arts. his wish for a majority is going down the toilet as we speak..look for more bloc members in Parliament... screw the tories.

Ah, Conservatives. They hate anything that doesn't turn them an immediate profit. Oh wait, the arts has a huge economic footprint in Canada. Guess they just hate anything they don't understand...like music, literature, film, tv, sculpture...well pretty much everything except guns and greed.
