B12 comes from bacteria, and there are many vegan supplements for it such as fortified yeasts. But, that's still not from eating too much salad, that's from not eating the right kinds of salad.

It can also be obtained over the counter from a pharmacist, for injection - if people are that militant about it.
I agree, but that tends to run contrary to their "all natural" rhetoric when it needs to be grown or manipulated in a lab.
I personally don't have an issue with it.
I agree. Most Vegans don't go for 'all natural', but 'not animal based' instead. Plastic is fine for shoes, just so long as it's not leather.
If they have to get B12 from a man made supplement, that's fine too - so long as the supplement doesn't contain gelatin.

but if you can't live off a diet without part of what your eating being manipulated by man, we were never meant to eat that diet. Pretty simple.
Good point. Shows that we are evolved to eat at least some animal sourced foods. As usual the problem arises when people take things to extremes.
Indeed! But not eating animal based products is a choice if there are alternate non-animal based sources available. I'm also not one to push my beliefs on others, and I get offended when people try to do it to me.
