I can't foretell the future... I can only go by what Ron Paul promised. If it would have worked or not, no one can truly tell... But it would have been a paradigm shift for the way government does & doesn't do things... I think Ron Paul had a lot to offer the US....
He wanted to do away completely with the Federal Reserve... Do away with personal& corporate income taxes replacing them with hefty duties & tariffs on imports...

AND Ron Paul wouldn't have fixed the junk that Chrysler produces or the crap GM has turned out nor would he have fixed GM branding problems. You don't need to be a Jedi to figure that out, just someone who gets some aspects of the car industry.

Mustang1 Mustang1: GM needs more cuts - Saturn, you're next Absolutely. I am amazed that they have even lasted this long. I can't remember the last time I even saw a saturn on the road, yet somehow they manage to stay afloat.

I'm gonna' go out on a limb and bet only Chevy, Cadillac, GMC and Buick survive and maybe not even GMC.

I drive one, and contrary to Mustangs usual anti-Big3 rants, it was $12,000 cheaper than a comparable Toyota or Nissan. Granted, the interior upholstery is a little plainer but that aint worth $12K. Plus I slammed it into a snowbank and wiggled the panels to pop them back into shape. Beat the hell out of the $4200 bill that wiped out my old Mitshubishi (Dodge) 4x4 from doing the same thing but slower...

I would agree though I would think Buick would go before GMC. I think they would want to keep GMC going just because it bears the name of the company. If it were up to me, I would give GMC the larger vehicle line with a minivan, and a couple of trucks, then Chevy does the smaller fuel efficient, more practical cars with Cadillac being their luxury brand. Ditch the rest because all they do is cut into the market share of the rest of their brands.

Well I can't say I am very familiar with their vehicles or their quality in comparison to other brands. I was commenting on the fact that there are so few of them on the road, it seemed counter intuitive that they managed to last as long as they did.

The only reason i think GMC could go is that its product line is already found mostly in Chevy anyway, but leaving it as a Truck/Minivan division might not be too bad

Saturn will survive, they need some place to put their Chinese made engines.

Mine's a Honda 3.5. That's why I bought it. Honda engine with plastic/stainless steel body. Honda that won't rust away in 5 years!
