Well aside from being illegal to carry weapons in your vehicle for defence against raiders, it is stupid and in case you are wondering how many law enforcement agencies would recommend taking the law into your own hands I'll give you a clue, it's zero.

It's actually not illegal to carry arms in your vehicle. The vehicle is on private property, you can do pretty much anything you want on private property. You don't have to register or insure vehicles on private property, you can drive them at any speed you want to, and you can surely carry firearms you are legally allowed to own. It's traditional to carry a loaded shotgun in plain view on your front dash. The cops know what it's for, and so do the people thinking on stealing your stuff. Like Bart says, (amended) "When trouble is minutes away, the police are only hours away." It's the guys rolling down public roads with their faces covered and sporting illegally stored handguns that are breaking the law.

Delwin Delwin: ...in case you are wondering how many law enforcement agencies would recommend taking the law into your own hands I'll give you a clue, it's zero. Once again, and to no surprise at all, YOU'RE WRONG. http://www.metrotimes.com/Blogs/archive ... carry-gunsDetroit Police Chief: Terrorists don't fuck with Detroiters because we all carry guns$1: On Tuesday Detroit Police Chief James Craig announced that Detroit would likely be spared a terrorist attack because so many of the city's residents are packing heat.
"A lot of Detroiters have CPLs (concealed pistol licenses), and the same rules apply to terrorists as they do to some gun-toting thug," Chief James Craig said, according to the Detroit News. “If you’re a terrorist, or a carjacker, you want unarmed citizens."
* * *
Craig has long been a proponent of Detroit citizens carrying guns. In December 2013, less than six months after taking the helm, the former Portland, Maine police chief made national headlines when he shared his belief that more armed citizens would help reduce Detroit's staggering crime rate.

You should do yourself a favour and stop posting, right now. Because you are getting more stupid by the minute. ![laughing at [laughat]](./images/smilies/smilie_auslachen.gif)

Laughs the town idiot. As Dr Caleb pointed out on your own property, although on the dashboard isn't the greatest idea. And go ahead and explain to a cop how it's to protect you from humans. You can whine about it all you want in some forum when they take it away - even if it is on your property.

DrCaleb DrCaleb: martin14 martin14: Delwin Delwin: farm equipment Farm equipment stolen in the middle of harvest. "oh yeah, no problem, insurance." Just how stupid are you ? Someone who thinks their dinner comes from the magical grocery store fairy. He likely believes hunting is evil and that if people want meat, they should buy it in a grocery store where it's made. Anywho, those mislabeled criminals, were likely just Eritrean Cubans being racially profiled.

It is illegal to carry weapons for self defence against humans in Canada, Period. (Unless you work in law enforcement or security) Look it up. And Bart, in the US, it might well fly, parts of it are a warzone. You won't find a Canadian source saying that. These guys are asking to be shot and regardless of all the BS bravado, no property is worth your life. If the guy who was approached by four armed thugs had of been armed, he would likely be dead. But dont get me wrong, you all sound like real badasses and everything.

And if someone was stupid enough to tell law enforcement that, they're as big a retard as you've demonstrated yourself to be.

Well if that is the intent, it makes them a criminal. Our laws don't work that way. So while you may think it's OK to encourage people to break the law, there are those of us who are smart enough to realize they are there for a reason.
Leave the policing to the police. Telling farmers that they should act like Charles Bronson is just going to get people killed.
Like I said before, a gopro is the way to go.

I always have a weapon nearby when I'm in my truck, I've got all the licenses and permits as required. If ever asked what I plan on using the guns for I'll tell them....just to use shooting at cans......what's not being said......

Wild boar are dangerous and populating the south saskatchewan river banks.
The firearms are in case a wild boar is encountered, obviously.
You wouldn't have to explain this to an officer of the law because you will never see an officer of the law out there unless they're called for some reason.
