Charles McVety, president of the coalition, said Morgentaler has admitted he broke the law and performed abortions before they were legal in the 1970s and 1980s. Morgentaler, a trained family physician, also had his medical licence suspended for one year in 1976 by the Professional Corporation of Physicians of Quebec.

In fact Morgentaler got the law overturned in 1988 as being unconstitutional since it was not applied consistently. But that's not grounds for an OC.

Mr McVety is a well-known anti-gay, anti-abortion campaigner. If Morgentaler is to have his OC revoked it would take a huge outcry from current OC holders - and that is not happening.
