He certainly fits under the description of a danger to himself or others. He should be be locked up in a mental hospital.

Hey that's dangerous stuff. It had a street value of $11 million. Thank God the cops took it off the streets before somebody got hooked.

"25 grams of marijuana ... in 21 Ziplock bags."
Lol what? Do you only sell to kids in elementary school?

At the age of 17 he may just have been.

$1:
In addition to making terrorist threats, his charges included criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of drugs and criminal possession of marijuana.

It helps if you actually read the story and forget about the "attention grabbing" yet inaccurate headline.
The use of the emojis is the least of his worries.

I read the whole thing thank you.
Please read what I said and understand it.

I didn't say he wasn't a drug dealer, in possession of pistol or even a scumbag.

What he didn't do was make a criminal threat to the police.

Agreed. But the emoticons being a threat?

That's going to a tough sell in court saying that a couple of emoticons constitutes a direct threat to the NYPD.

Seriously, if that's what it takes to scare the NYPD then they're a bunch of p***ies.

I dunno, considering his past "relationship" with the police and judicial system, it's not an unreasonable conclusion. The media or police labeling them as "terrorist" threats was probably a bit over the top.

Hmph. A couple of smileys and the NYPD and the media fall all over themselves calling it a terrorist threat.

But let a moslem cleric say he wants moslems to wage jihad and slaughter the infidels and both the NYPD and the media are utterly unable to see any threat at all.

$1:
He has 12 prior arrests, including for robbery, assault, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct, and possession of a weapon.

As recently as October he pleaded guilty to robbery in the first degree after he attacked people on two separate occasions in robberies, once with a beer bottle and a second time with a knife.

in the first incident, Aristy and five others repeatedly beat a man with beer bottles before taking cash and a cell phone on Greene Avenue near Wyckoff Avenue at 4:45 a.m. on May 18, 2014.

The victim suffered dizziness, bleeding, and cuts and bruises to his face, according to a criminal complaint.

Within 10 days, on May 27 at 3:00 a.m., he and another person placed a knife to a man's neck, knocked him to the ground and again took cash and cell phone.

We just had a RCMP officer murdered in Alberta by some scumbag with a long record with these exact same kinds of charges. The perp got sloughed off by the system until he became a lethal threat and took someone's life. Tossing this clot in New York into prison for a while is exactly the sort of thing that should be done before he goes too far, just like should have happened that Facebook death-threat spewing bastard who gunned down the two NYPD officers last month.

I understand that some of you have a permanent gripe against the police. That doesn't mean clowns like this are innocent. In reality most of them never are. Your respective grudges against the police doesn't change the fact that these type of scum will always be scum and just because you've decided that the police are your enemy doesn't by default mean that thugs of this variety are suddenly your friends.

The law should be use correctly for specified crimes, not just throwing everything possible in hopes that something will stick.

Sounds like he did more than sell a bit of weed.
