Yeah, I get where you're coming from and I do agree that the holistic medicine people are a bit weird. Still, there needs to be a healthy balance between the tin-foiler anti-vaxxers and the tin-foilers who believe every product of Big Pharma magically becomes an infallible miracle from Jesus just because it's labeled a 'vaccine'.
I am an Engineer. Before we are 'called', we undergo a lot of legal courses and instruction to understand that comes with responsibilities. We do things that can directly affect people's lives. (not me specifically, but Engineers in general). With the responsibility of putting your personal seal on a drawing and saying it is 'safe' you also take the responsibility that if it is not safe and it causes people to be hurt or killed, then you also bear that responsibility.
Anti-Vaxxers are getting people killed. They should bear the responsibility that a position of fame gives them, and answer for those deaths. There is now an outbreak of the measles in 22 US states. How many will die because these people continue to disseminate bad information and get people killed?

I'm skeptical of anything made by Big Pharma and the fact that I can ask for and receive vaccines sans mercury means I'll skip the mercury every single time.
Between repeated exposures to concussive blast waves and a heavy drinking hobby I don't have the brain cells to spare for even a minute amount of a neurotoxin to be introduced into my body if I can avoid it simply by asking.
By the way, a month or two back I had the pneumonia vaccine after reading about it, reading about the low incidence of side effects (swelling around the injection site being #1) and the fact that my HMO uses a vaccine that is natively free of mercury.
I mean if I can avoid the mercury then why not?
I'd go with the concussion angle, because I've lost track of the number of times you've been told the mercury (that is no longer used in the MMR vaccine, and the MMR vaccine is no longer used anyhow) is no more a threat to you than the poisonous chlorine or explosive sodium that is in your table salt.
It must be the concussions that keep you from remembering that chemical compounds do not act like the elements that comprise them.
