$1:
Ottawa's David Chernushenko, who lost his bid for the leadership of the party to May in March 2006, said he quit the party because of May's "autocratic approach" and references she made during the election campaign that suggested Green supporters should vote for other parties to keep the Conservatives out of power.

Suprise suprise. Didn't this twit realise that he was in a Socialist party and this behaviour was the norm????????????????????????

Maybe he just figured out that he'll never get elected, and get that golden pension if he stays in their party.

Either way, this guy isn't the brightest bulb in the pack.

I've said it many times, the Green party will never be taken seriously as long as May is at the helm telling Canadians to vote for parties other than her own.

Harper was bang on about her.

I never knew that Bruce Cockburn lived in a cave and walked to all of his worldwide concerts.

Good for him.

Sounds like he's auditioning for a job with a real party. Sad thing was the greens got this great press coverage because of the lapdog media, not through any skillful planning on their own.

Are you just so completely rabid and blinded that you can't understand anything beyond CPC propaganda?

I can only imagine the crying you did when your beloved reform died ..... then your beloved alliance died ..... now you itinerate CPC.

The Green party may not have won seats but they got significant vote support.

You guys got about 38% and they got 10%.

That a statement and its entirely why Harper is faking commitment to global warming.

Their own leader was telling their supporters to vote for another party. Why would that make you feel like supporting them if the leader, herself is telling you to vote for someone else.

Derby, you make a good point about their support although it was 7% I believe.

The defining factors are that they failed to win any seats even though they ran candidates across the country and had lots of money. Two independants won which makes them look even worse.

May asking her supporters to vote for other parties is not conducive to the Greens partys goals of becoming a legitimate party.

They will eventually elect members of parliament but I believe that May has lost her credibility.

Being a leftist supporter I would agree.

Its about responsibility. She and the Green party are about a message. She was hopeful but realistic that her party will breakthrough.

Her message was the environment.

You should be thankful she was an acomplished politician as is Layton. If they were Stockwell Days then the vote would have gone Dions way.

Of course you won't admit it but Harper winning a minority against such a divided and weak opposition is just bitter in taste.

That's going to be tough to do as the Greens priority is the environment, the NDP's is poverty and the Liberals is......well I'm not sure anymore but the Liberals usually govern like Conservatives so it will be tough to gel these 3.

Besides, the Greens have a fiscaly conservative agenda.
