Ass, he shouldn't be able to do that, if the family isn't going to keep it, give it to the country, like a museum!!! 200 years and what? Throw it to anyone?

It's easy to say that when you don't have a multi-million dollar sword. That could buy a few more decades of luxery for them.

how did his "descendants" still manage to have this sword all this time ?
considering all that has happened in europe since napoleons death .
this sword should be in a museum , that shouldn't even be a question .

It is theirs to do with as they please. Let a museum buy it and thus it will always be the property of the museum and thus no one can come a couple generations from now and claim ownership of it.
