Naw, that would be impossible considering every Liberal Government since Trudeau has told us that crime in Canada isn't a problem and if we're just a little more understanding of the poor miscreants all our problems will disappear.

The left is telling us that the crime rates going down.
I guess these 6 guys didn't get the message.

$1:
Dear Prime Minister:

Re: Misleading Crime Statistics

Recently Statistics Canada has once again issued a misleading set of statistics concerning crime in Canada. The agency insists on using crimes reported to police to calculate what it refers to as crime rates. Yet other surveys carried out by Statistics Canada show that only about one-third of crimes are reported to police, and that proportion may be declining.

The rates of property crimes reported to police have trended downward for a number of years. Yet Statistics Canada’s Criminal Victimization Surveys of the Canadian public show that real property crime rates have increased significantly. The logical conclusion is that Canadians are less likely to report these crimes to police, not that true crime rates have declined.

The rates of violent crimes reported to police and the rates of violent crimes reported in the Criminal Victimization Surveys have not changed much, but only one-third or fewer violent crimes are reported to police.

Statistics Canada’s misleading approach to the reporting of crime in Canada must be stopped. Crime is a serious subject, with more than eight million criminal offences in Canada in 2004, directly affecting one person in four. In 2004, the last year for which reliable information is available, there were more than 2.7 million violent crimes in Canada, which inflicted over 650,000 physical injuries.

As pointed out in the letter attached, clearly there is a need to obtain on an annual basis a more accurate picture of the total extent of crime in our country.

Sincerely,

Henry K.S. Lee
Chairman and Chief Elected Officer

(Police chief in Vancouver city. )
