I don't see the hipocracy between stating the obvious that if you can't feed 5 children that you shouldn't have 5 children; then having 5 children that are well fed, housed and clothed.

Do you have natives living on your property? I can't say about the native issue as it's a new one for me, but isn't the island co-owned with an oil company?

And several people here have said they too own more than one home. Are they hypocrites too if they say the world needs less pollution? I've seen this home described as 100% sustainable; a cabin; a mansion. Are there any pictures of it? And if it makes no pollution, isn't it exactly in keeping with Dr. Suzuki's philosophy?

All in all I don't think I've ever seen a more poorly designed list of choices.

As far as Suzuki is concerned, to my mind he's pretty high on the list of celebrity hypocrites (with Al Gore probably claiming top spot). He doesn't "walk the talk".

The idea of racing is to use as little fuel as possible. That's how technology advances.

Besides, my day job requires huge amounts of electricity and airconditioning. Racing one weekend a month, 4 months a year can't measure to the pollution I cause 24/7/265.

But they don't have to. Quite a bit of technology have com along that have reduced that pollution many times what it once was, but further advances aren't possible because of the 100 year old infrastructure of this building.

Not only that, but his five children were all born DECADES ago (most in the 1960s) when the global population was far smaller and there was far less strain on resources. His advocacy for smaller families is a far more recent issue.

I'm not a big fan of Suzuki particularly, but he has taken steps to reduce his carbon footprint - like appearing via video conference instead of travelling everywhere.
