Are you also in favour of renaming history in favour of a gender neutral name? This is not about how politically correctness is starting to go too far and how everything referring to a holiday even celebrated by athiests (I know a fair number, they still call it Christmas) is being erased.

The problem is that Christmas is two different holidays with the same name. It's a holy day for most Christians and it's a celebration of family for secularists and other non Christian groups that partake of the festive time. Some people celebrate one aspect of it and some celebrate both

It's also a whole lot of other things to a whole lot of other people who aren't Christian. Interesting that they chose to use the word "yuletide", but there is no mention of the fact that Yule is probably never been celebrated at all at this school. Where are all the pagans up in arms about removing Yule from Yuletide? How come the Christians are the only ones complaining?

The point is Christmas is celebration of the birth of Christ. Jesus is the reason for the season as they say. Secularism has taken hold in Canada and there is a mass erosion of our heritage and culture. It is even filtering into the Catholic school system as well. ie. calling halloween orange and black day. Time to stop the insanity.

I guess my generation (70's/80's) was the last to enjoy Christmas at school before all the PC hit the fan. The only time the teachers became upset was when someone stuck a bloody foil knife in santa's hand.

Why can't they allow a coming together and expression of special religious days/holidays throughout the year rather then restrict one religion over another?

One of the options open to this man is to enroll his kid in a Christian private school.

Maybe he just want to celebrate without kid -send him to school, and want's to avoid teaching him about Christmas and other things . If he would like to make a good Christmass for his kid, he would. That's only my private meaning))

The thing is, most of the non Christians coming into Canada aren't the ones doing the whining and complaining about feeling left out during our taditional holidays. As someone posted on another related thread, it's a bunch of older white folk with NDP leanings if not further left, who are stirring the pot and are assuming the new arrivals are feeling left out. Self hating whites.
