Curtman Curtman:
In case you missed it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with "robocalls" as far as the rules are concerned. This is not an Elections Canada rule being broken, it's a CRTC regulation. Gutter politics isn't what we're talking about here. Its a technicality that was reported by the campaign that made the mistake. Nobody was "caught" after a cover-up like we're watching unfold with the Harperites.
Your inexperience is showing.
This isn't a "mistake" as they would like you to think, this was a calculated message that they were ashamed to have their name attached to. When you send out an inflaming robo-call and "forget" to attach your name and any other detail you have to by law, that's gutter politics.
This "mistake" happened by an experienced (lawyer) politician who's claim of ignorance about the rules is laughable simply because it's not his first campaign, he's been through it with his father and rules for these types of things are made VERY clear to you by Elections Canada.
I'm glad he manned up, which is more than most will do but the excuse that "we didn't know" is just laughable as people like you actually buy it.
