Not much of surprise really. I read a private government newsletter (available to MLAs) that speculated that as many as TEN PCs might jump ship in the coming weeks.

I heard it on the radio, not that private.

Seems like Calgary's doing a lot of whining again, since when did some old wannabe, buying a party membership become a news story. WRA are starting a lot of these rumours to the point where their starting to turn me off. But hey, if they can knock the Libs out as the official opposition thing, I say go for it.

I got an automated phone poll last night asking who I would vote for if there was an election today. I missed who was taking it. Did anybody else get a call?

I got that call but I didn't catch the polling company either.

I voted for the Wildrose Alliance last election but if I were to vote again I think I'd choose liberal. I like the WRA's fiscal conservatism and electoral reform policies, but I get the impression that they're going to be another borderline western separatist party (like the Reform/Alliance party).

from their website:
* defend Alberta against intrusions by the federal government by protecting the property, legal, constitutional and democratic rights of Albertans.

* work to remove inter-provincial trade and professional certification barriers by the expansion of the Trade, Investment, and Labour Mobility Agreement to other Provinces.

pretty vague stuff imo

tl;dr - Alberta politics suck

Yeah thats what I said.

Calgary's like the Fed Libs they think they are the natural city of leaders, if one of their guys aren't running the show their not happy. I know north, up the highway people may be cooling towards Ed. But in the last 2 years we've had a few major projects completed in our riding that have been on the books for 30 years. So we can't be to down with him. I know we're tired of construction. And there's more to Alberta than just Calgary. But the Calgary media doesn't see it that way. Just like the last go around they thought they had the Libs elected.

But if he fast tracks those power lines down our throats, the revolt could be on.

So you're good with Ed as long as he's kissing your ass. Meanwhile the rest of the province wants to slit his throat. That's a Calgary thing?

I just realized you think it's a Calgary thing because it was in the Herald

Check out how many I hate Stelmach stories are in the Ed. Journal today.
That Liberal hotbed of Edmonton hasn't been to cozy to Eddy lately.

How is he kissing our ass? By rebuilding a few highways? Sorry it was our turn.

You guys keep reacting to rumours, I'll wait until there are some announcements and decide then.

Just remember the WRA won a protest byelection, the Liberals can even do that.
