romanP romanP:
carrying a confederate flag should be considered a hate crime. it's no different from walking around with a Nazi flag. in this context, it is without any doubt a hate crime, but the usual white supremacists on this board are defending racist action. no surprises here.
And you're right on point again calling anyone who doesn't agree with you "racist" But, allow me to suggest that before you embarrass yourself anymore you should start checking your facts.
It isn't illegal to carry or possess a Nazi Flag in Canada so your claim that walking around with one constitutes a hate crime is once again..... wrong.
$1:
Canada has no legislation specifically restricting the ownership, display, purchase, import or export of Nazi flags. However sections 318-320 of the Criminal Code,[8] adopted by Canada's parliament in 1970 and based in large part on the 1965 Cohen Committee recommendations,[9] provide law enforcement agencies with broad scope to intervene if such flags are used to communicate hatred in a public place (particularly sections 319(1), 319(2), and 319(7).[9]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post%E2%8 ... ags#CanadaSo it's really a stretch to say this guy wearing Lee's Battle Flag on his head is a hate crime.
BTW section 319 deals with public incitement of hatred which doesn't specifically mentions the Confederate flag. So, given Canada wasn't part of the American Civil War, never had slave ownership, didn't fight for the Confederacy and never flew Lee's Battle flag for any reason the charges are just another PC tool to shut someone up.
http://www.efc.ca/pages/law/cc/cc.319.htmlSo, the wearing of this flag on your head to express a point about the stupidity of allowing people to hide their identity when getting gov't issued ID's or taking citizenship oaths probably means that if justice prevails this person will walk on the "hate crime" charge.
But, on the plus side if opposing your twisted hate filled views of white people makes me a racist then...............put me in coach.
