Oddly, China is a democracy. It is what is calleda "Vanguard" democracy. As were all the Marxict states in the beginning. That is, that it is, or was, an ignorant mass - a peasant society, led by an educated elite into a new society. Provided the mass is engaged in the Party, it does not matter that it is only one Party. That is still democracy - another form. Those democracies tend not to last, either,

China is showing the strains now as that mass becomes educated and prosperous.
