I'm not exactly sure Cheech and Chong are the right people to be representing the pot smokers of Canada.

There needs to be a legitimate push, problem is too many wealthy and powerful pot smokers will simply not back any such movement for fear of being personally discredited, losing their jobs, or worse face criminal charges.

I know plenty of execs (wealthy, successful, business owners, managers) around my circle of acquaintances who smoke pot and even worse, but none of them will sign any petitions with their real names, or protest. They’d rather simply lay low, pick up in moderately sized batches, and stay quiet about it.

Yea, don't expect a conservative government to actually listen to any suggestions on pot legalization, lol. Hell, Liberals and NDP barely even care about it to begin with. This is gonna be a slow burn until mid-century.

Decriminalize it and tax the shit out of it, so I can live the good life on my increased pension and reduced tax burden.

But my guess is the second you did that, every dope smoking, long haired, VW driving, hippie wannabe would be howling about having to pay taxes to the man for smoking something that nature gave us and go underground..............like they already are.

So the theory of it being a tax windfall would likely prove to be another red herring. But we can dream can't we, you guys doing it legally and me reaping the benefits.

We need this group of malcontents to balance out the yin and yang of Canadian Politics, but just for posterities sake, what does that have to do with smoking dope and trying to avoid taxes?

most smokers I know (and I know allot) would welcome decriminalization.
They don't even have to tax it, just decriminalize personal ammounts and allow people to have say a 5 plant limit to grow themselves, as long as they aren't distributing it no worries and no crime, no government.
