You would prefer that nothing be done and we continue taking their money. For me, a plan that might turn a have not province to a have province, is a good thing... even though I have no idea if it WILL work in the long run.

I've been wondering for decades why we haven't done anything up north yet. Probably for the same reason they waited before developing the tar sands.

Who knows, maybe we'll get a bunch of Albertans working in Québec. 8)

Better check your facts. We will all be dead and buried long before the sands runs out of crude.

I'd be more worried about the cesspool of corruption that is Quebec before prognosticating about the future of any other province if I was you.

Now Now, development in Northern PQ is a good thing, personally I don't care if it Alberta's money that kickstarts it or someone elses, it's better used this way then to fund groups and agencies that are only interested in making sure that all the street signs in PQ have bigger french lettering than english.

Reading the story and it doesn't say that it will cost 80B. It is valued at 80B.

Finally get rid of the Bloc, no current threats of sepratism but somehow Quebec gets the additional funding anyways. Who would have thought, well atleast they have a good plan for the money this time instead of it being wasted. Maybe by the end of this, Quebec will get enough provincial income that they no longer will need government handouts. Than "Albertans" apparently the only people who pay Tax's in Canada can stop feeling robbed.
