Canada may not have Officially been a country at the turn of the eighteenth centuy but a good many records from the period refer to Canada and Quebec. Interestingly, they also referred to the Massachusetts, and the early colonies as Provinces.
The two colonies were Upper Canada and Lower Canada, then they became Canada West and Canada East, then the 'Canada's' once the two colonies merged legislative assemblies after the 1837 rebellion and the Durham report.
At the end of the day no Canadians or Colonial Canadians took part in the burning of the Whitehouse.
