You guys are misunderstanding the meaning of the word "fence". This fence is going be Obama's legacy. It's going to out-do Roosevelt's New Deal, Eisenhower's Interstate Highway program, Kennedy's Space Program, Johnson & Nixon's war, and Bush's war COMBINED. It's going to be the infrastructure job-creation spending program of the ages and it'll create zero unemployment in the USA. How? The fence will be the Maginot Line times 10 to the power of 10. 5,000 kms long, 500 feet wide, sunk a half-mile deep and 1000 feet high. There'll be checkpoints and crossings along the way. It'll have roads and tunnels and offices and a subway system and every other goddamn thing you can imagine.

A handmaid's tale was prophecy, not fiction. And, if another terror attack occurs(God willing it won't) you'll find the perps were all issued visas by the American government, or were home grown loonies.

Also, the Whitehouse burning was retaliation for the American burning of Fort York.

Just a little taste of what happens if the Americans go too far.

If Janet Nepolitano could ever get her head out of her girl friends ass long enough to think it is the M E X I C A N border that needs not only a fence, but a wall similar to the Berlin Wall.

The violence from the United (Drug) Mexican States is appalling especially as the BATF
F up and sold drug dealers military grade weapons.

Every time I hear this tripe my blood boils. It is insulting to Canadians and reflects the ignorance and stupidity that is infecting Washington these days. Then again she is reflecting the foreign policy of her boss which is to insult and screw our allies.

The Canadian border should be re-open to what it once was and trash this Anti-Canada horse shit.

@ 2 posts back

I think that's a little wishful fantasy on your behalf(terrorists using backpack nukes or dirty bombs on an American city). Britain was the superpower at that time, so burning one city during a raid was an easy thing to accomplish.

No Canadians took part in that. We were British back then.

Nope, you were colonies back then. No colonial militia was present when the British Army and Royal Naval elements did their stuff in Washington. Read your history.

Canada may not have Officially been a country at the turn of the eighteenth centuy but a good many records from the period refer to Canada and Quebec. Interestingly, they also referred to the Massachusetts, and the early colonies as Provinces.

I don't see why everyone is getting so bent out of shape over this. The US can't even finish building a fence between them and Mexico (3,138 km or 1,969 miles). how do expect them build one up on thier northern border which is 8,891 kilometers (5,525 mi) long, including 2,475 kilometres (1,538 mi) shared with Alaska.

The two colonies were Upper Canada and Lower Canada, then they became Canada West and Canada East, then the 'Canada's' once the two colonies merged legislative assemblies after the 1837 rebellion and the Durham report.

At the end of the day no Canadians or Colonial Canadians took part in the burning of the Whitehouse.

Sorry to burst some urban-myths here.

There was no such thing as 'Canadian citizenship' until 1947.
To any German WWII vets out there:
Wasn't us! Don't blame us.
We weren't real people then.
