Natural gas is not derived from oil. It is normally found in pockets above an oil deposit. It's a completely seperate substance.

I can't argue about the link between Iraq and oil but Afghanistan is a whole different situation. People who believe the war in Afghanistan is about oil, I believe, are just trying to find anything they can to justify their own diluded opinions. We've been in Afghanistan since 2001, long before the war in Iraq kicked off again. And if anyone thinks that the Taliban are winning and we're not making any difference over there needs to stop believing what they get from any media and start maybe getting the real story from the troops who have been there. I'm sure there are many here who would be more than willing to give their 2 cents.
