Testify! I am looking to replace my 14 year old F-150. A new comparable F-150 starts at $80k. A fully electric, starts at $110k. An entry level pickup capable of pulling a small trailer, $55k. Top of the line F-150, $145k. Top of the line Bronco, $108k.

Most of those prices were Ferrari and Lambo territory 20 years ago. Not F-150.

Just got dinged $1300 for a water pump and timing belt change.

Well, that's 2 things I'll never have to worry about if I could ever afford an EV

Come to think of it, I think my 2009 F-150 Lariat 4X4 was $53k. Now you get a tiny truck FWD for that.

Yup. I looked at a Maverick too. Decided it was worth quite a few grand to fix up what I had.

* I looked at the ONLY Maverick I found on a lot since they came out.

I looked at them all. Ford, Nissan, Toyota . . .

They are all the same. Just variations of the same thing. Only Toyota has no BEVs. And the 2024 Maverick Hybrid will be the first plug in for Ford, and none of the others have one.

And Toyota announced it will join the 2010's with a pure EV vehicle.

I've wanted one since they came out, but they are basically unavailable unless you wait 8 months. There is rumours toyota going to make a competitor in the next couple years so hopefully that helps them drop the prices again. They're charging like 10k more than when they launched at 6% higher financing. It's fucking stupid. Truck market has gone insane. These fuckers out here spending mortgage payments on a truck they go grocery shopping with.

It just floors me that the tiny truck is the one priced at the full sized price, and the full sized is priced what I sold my parents home for.

And it seems none of the cost MSRP either.

They're planning to call the Toyota the Stout. Not to be confused with VW bringing back the Scout...
