Oh, Christ. First the yoga, now this. Then let's change the name to !xatt7lyqtl bridge.

That was my first response. Then I thought about it, and painting the upper span in some colors - doesn't actually bother me. If it makes the gays happy, it's all good.

Did work for a local Band once, we used their name as their network password. Even half the members couldn't get the letters and apostrophes in the right order
They just renamed the park in Prince George to Lheidli T'enneh, and that's ok. Sign of the times, cultural historical recognition and all that. But Fort George Park was a hell of a lot easier to say.

So if you're not gay, will you still be able to use the bridge, or will you have to buy a special permit to use a special lane like at the American border?

When I'm talking the absurdities of Vancouverites, I'm not always sure if I'm joking.

Just keep it on your side of the bridge Vancouver nutbars.

Having lived on the outskirts of Vancouver for most of my life, I've come to the conclusion that Vancouver is a joke, along with most of the politicians holed up in Victoria, a beautiful little town on Vancouver Island and the current seat of British Columbia's government.

It was nice when Victoria's claim to fame was being the city of the newly wed and the nearly dead.

Victoria....where old people go to visit their grandparents.

Okay let me get this strait (no pun intended). This group is wanting to permanently change the bridge to fly the LGBT's colors or just during pride week?

The way I'm reading they'd want it debuted during pride week as a permanent thing.

I can see the new advice on TripAdvisor for visiting Vancouver:

"It's probably best to leave your children at home."

Why? They probably already know more gay people than you or I do.

If it's temporary for Pride Day or whatever the heck their calling it these days, I think it's a great idea. But not permanent--too tacky.

For the Pride Parade or some event would be ok, but not a permanent thing. Probably just one of many dumb ideas people try to win support for.

Speaking of pride, and leaving the children at home though, seen this one?

http://moonbattery.com/?p=59658

And the braintrained jump forward with their hands on their hips demanding "What's wrong with that?"

One almost wants to tell them, but what good would it do?

That poor kid is probably being passed around at parties. Hell, he was probably being passed around at the parade where this was taken. Sick.
