I don't know why we had to "apologise" (it wasn't a real apology anyway. It can only mean that if you actually mean it). Political correctness strikes again.
And yet the Yanks are allowed to celebrate, every Fourth July, the fact that they kicked the British off BRITISH land. Why don't they apologise for that and give us our land back?
I remember a few years back when some American politician was trying to get the Cubans to pay for seized American assets in Cuba, a UEL group mentioned suing the United States for the value of their seized assets in Maryland.
