Both CNN and CBC are reporting that a second suspect, an age-50ish white male, is being sought. And Loughner is invoking his right against self-incrimination and not talking to the police. I'm no investigative cop or journalist but this to me is a sign that he's dummying up to protect someone else who might be directly involved.
Might be time to put the brakes on the 'lone-nut" talk. If there's someone else involved that makes it a conspiracy to assassinate either Giffords or Judge Roll, or both. I'm fairly certain that conspiracy, by definition, takes it from a random crime into the territory of a targetted political killing.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: The end mentions he's against money that's not backed by 'gold and silver'. If he's pissed at the Federal Reserve he definitely shot the wrong people.
The grammar thing is bizarre.
I don't think we'll be able to pinpoint his politics. If he even has any. No offense to you intended, but given the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf being on his reader list I'm pretty sure we can rule out 'libertarian'.

In the end, a nine year old girl died here on top of everything else. What a hell of a shame...

xerxes xerxes: I hope not. This could well be that this finally slaps Americans back to reality that rhetoric like the below example are unacceptable political discourse. I agree this ad is disgusting and an embarrassment. Some of this extreme right wing rhetoric is beginning to remind me of the KKK sewage and frightens me that is is becoming respectable, it isn't.

I sent a note off to Sara Palin's website and attached a copy of the add and asked the group to remove that ad off the internet in the name of common decency. I doubt they will answer me, but I hope I embarrassed them.

I doubt they will answer me, but I hope I embarrassed them. I heard that many of Palins Webpages were taken Offline earlier. Not sure if it's accurate though.

It wasn't taken offline, just scrubbed of anything that could come back to rightly haunt her.

redhatmamma redhatmamma: Palin was targeting demographics and voter areas that could be taken by Republicans, it had nothing to do with shooting people. If you want to read extreme left wing rhetoric just go to Daily Kos or DU, here's and example http://www.narbosa.com/2011/01/daily-ko ... s-now.htmlKos is scrubbing stuff too, gee, what hypocrites Giffords had been target of violent threats is true, here's the Daily Kos "bulls eye" post http://hillbuzz.files.wordpress.com/201 ... -33-pm.pngYeah, demographics. The lowest common denominator views it as that. That's some good chaff you're firing...

But Palin's "demographics targeting" as you put it, used all kinds of gun rhetoric, the "voter areas" were targeted with cross-hairs and comments from her corner are laced with references to taking up arms and "second amendment solutions".
Nobody is saying that she or any republican is deliberately trying to incite this kind of activity, but when politicians keep using violent metaphors and making reference to taking up arms against their opponents, sooner or later some crackpot is going to follow through on that idea, whether he is one of your followers or not.

As long as campaigning over the back of others is permitted, there will never come anything positive out of it. Instead of making sure everybody knows YOUR strengths, you make sure everybody knows THEIR weaknesses. Ridiculous.

I gotta ask (and I don't mean to be impolite), but was it any different in the Netherlands? Oh yes. It is not done for political parties to make negative commercials about other parties. They will be taken down and the parties will be fined. It is not done for ANY kind of commercial to be negative about another product or person.
