That is one option, but take into account it would have to be a good percentage the size of the Earth to be effective. Not an easy engineering feat. And like many methods that are meant to remain in place, how do you remove it once its not needed, or has an unanticipated effect?

Most think the easier way is through sequestration. Putting the genie back in the bottle. Something that also has been proposed for a long time, but no industry wants to do because they already externalized their environmental burden on the rest of us.
