Hmm, seems to me that the argument that this is safe because it was just some vegetables wasn't exactly true.

Oh my...I just tried one of those "Beyond Meat" burgers today. It was actually quite tasty. Should have known that meant there was something wrong with it.

Jesus fucking Christ. Do I have to really go through this and point out all the things wrong with this blog? Seriously, can you not think for yourself? For fucks sake it quote DR MERCOLA, who's a known anti-vax (and anti-science) quack.
I mean fuck I can tell this is horse shit by the title. "Beyond meat is beyond unhealthy." Then lists six ingredients, only two of which are in the beyond meat burger. One is an oil and one is for taste (and yeast extract is not MSG, that's literally a flat out lie).
Can you people even read?

Can you people even read? And some of the tests they cite were carried out on animals, other don't quite say when they claim. They don't even make sense, when almost everyone in Japan eats and drinks soy every day, why is Belgium the world leader in breast cancer rates? Just leave them to their ignorance. Not worth the time any more to even argue.

I'm still not going to try it... I make my own veggie patties and they taste nothing like meat... they don't bleed either. When I want something that tastes like meat, I'll eat meat.

Honestly, I don't think anyone is a trusted source of science news other than journals. But some blogs can be a good gateway when properly sourced. And also not completely misrepresenting what the source says. Or one written by scientists, like real ones. https://backreaction.blogspot.com/ is written by a theoretical physicist. IFLscience, while more pop science, does at least link to the sources as well. And it reaches a pretty wide audience. When it comes to science, journalists are barely (if at all) above your average blog writer in capability to digest what is said in the journals.

I would agree, journalists like bloggers often try to dumb it down so much that they end up getting it dead wrong. I like to think I'm no slouch when it comes to science, and I have a hard time with many journal articles. I can't see how someone who isn't that familiar with them can 'dumb' them down.

It amazes me how people who pride themselves on organic food, 'farm to fork', locally sourced, and other buzzwords will so easily throw that all away in order to eat some weird Frankenfood made in a chemistry lab out of soy...an estrogen emulator that can cause infertility in men and breast cancer in women. Go ahead and eat it up, snowflakes, I'm having a ribeye and a Scotch tonight. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

Come to think of it... I had my 'Beyond Burger' yesterday and I woke up thinking maybe I should put my hair in a bun and wear more sandals.

Don't want any chemistry in your dinner!
