Got a link?

If that's true then the scariest part isn't that he might become President but rather, that someone let this guy operate on peoples brains. 8O

He's a devout 7th day Adventist. If you think this is the only crazy thing he believes, think again. They were founded on the belief that Christ's return was imminent, and had to go thru a period of "darkness" he didn't show at the appointed time. And:
$1:
The Seventh-day Adventist doctrine of creationism is based on believing that the opening chapters of Genesis should be interpreted as literal history. Adventist belief holds that all Earthly life originated during a six-day period some 6000 years ago, and a global flood destroyed all land based animals and humans except for those saved on Noah's Ark. Traditional Adventists oppose theories which propose interpreting the days of creation symbolically.[116] Adventists reject the naturalistic views of abiogenesis and evolution.

If this guy gets in and has a republican congress, it will be an American Taliban takeover of the govt.

K
Don't you think that an American "Taliban" composed of Evangelicals will be a greater danger to us and our freedoms than the real Taliban poses?

Definitely. The real Taliban is a bunch of shepherd in pickup trucks located in Afghanistan and despicable as they are, they are not really a threat to the way of liffe of anyone outside of their borders and tribal Pakistan.

Give those nukes to someone like Carson or Cruz and one day they'll shoot some of them off. In order to "save tiny helpless Israel!", or some bullshit like that, even though the Israelis will say "what the fuck are you guys talking about?". :|

No...some Talibaptist will figure he can kick off Armageddon and force the Second Coming. Keep in mind that this is part of the fundy Jihadist belief system too.

This isn't highly surprising coming from a right winged candidate. We have entered a new age of right winged mysticism where novices are experts and experts are novices. I mean if 97% of scientists can be wrong about climate change, is it really that much of a stretch that 100% of archaeologists are wrong about the pyramids? When you work so hard to undermine scientists, one of the consequences is that you actually put science itself into question.

In this new found dark age up is down and down is up, anything goes. We've basically stepped through the looking Glass and their is no turning back. Nice job righties.

$1:
Ben Carson was not offered a formal scholarship to West Point as he wrote in his autobiography, his campaign said Friday, acknowledging the latest in a series of misstatements from the retired neurosurgeon who has surged to the top of the GOP's presidential field.

"I guess it could have been more clarified," Carson said in an interview with Fox News to be broadcast Friday night. "I told it as I understood it."

During last month's presidential debate, Carson said it was "absolutely absurd" to say he had a formal relationship with the company Mannatech. But Carson is featured in the company's videos, including one from last year in which he credits Mannatech's glyconutritional supplements with helping people restore a healthy diet.

On Wednesday, Carson wrote on his Facebook page that "every signer of the Declaration of Independence had no elected office experience." But about half had experience as elected members of colonial assemblies, and Watts admitted the error to The Washington Post.

"They" don't really need to do much, he's doing it all by himself.

Everybody's got skeletons in the closet and at some point someone is going to bring them to light. So, before people judge Ben Carson from 17 years ago perhaps they'd better start hoping their choice for President isn't an idiot but, given that 99% of politicians are, it just might be wishful thinking.

Did you feel the same way about the Liberal candidate who turned out to have been a truther?

Not to disagree with anything you said here but I think it's the other way around . It's the systematic disregard for the "scientific consensus " regarding things around literal Bible interpretation that have lead to AGW denial. "I mean really, if scientists can be so wrong about 'The Creation' how can they not be wrong about global warming?"

Good point. Not just AGW, but science as a whole is to be distrusted because so much of it conflicts with their world view. And yet many of them are scientists or in science related fields. You have to wonder how Ben Carson ever passed biology. You have engineers using physics that at the heart basically says a personally involved creator God is very unlikely. And how can you claim the earth is 6000 years old and then merrily use chemistry and physics without great cognitive dissonance? The mental acrobatics required must cause them great strain. So maybe they're not crazy because what they believe, but that their beliefs make them crazy.

Good points. I would also propose that Ben Carson may not even believe these things entirely himself. There is obviously a very real sense of disempowerment that come from having a low iq or being of average intelligence. There must also be a sense of empowerment when those whom are lacking in intelligence can refute their intellectual superiors. From a political standpoint, the ability to utilize this empowerment can be quite valuable. Ben is just vying for the stupid vote. It's a smart move.

Normally I agree. But I get the impression he actually believes this stuff. Or at the very least, he's repeated it so much he believes it. Yes he's an accomplished neurosurgeon, but he wouldn't be the first person to be incredibly skilled at one thing, and yet believes ridiculous things elsewhere.

There are a lot of creationists with PHD's.
