Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy: Got a link? If that's true then the scariest part isn't that he might become President but rather, that someone let this guy operate on peoples brains. He's a devout 7th day Adventist. If you think this is the only crazy thing he believes, think again. They were founded on the belief that Christ's return was imminent, and had to go thru a period of "darkness" he didn't show at the appointed time. And: $1: The Seventh-day Adventist doctrine of creationism is based on believing that the opening chapters of Genesis should be interpreted as literal history. Adventist belief holds that all Earthly life originated during a six-day period some 6000 years ago, and a global flood destroyed all land based animals and humans except for those saved on Noah's Ark. Traditional Adventists oppose theories which propose interpreting the days of creation symbolically.[116] Adventists reject the naturalistic views of abiogenesis and evolution. If this guy gets in and has a republican congress, it will be an American Taliban takeover of the govt.

Between Carson and Trump (and Cruz and Huckabee and Santorum and.....) genuinely stupid people are guaranteed to have a good selection to choose from in the GOP primaries.

And it's not to change anytime soon either. The right wing noise machine has made certain of that with the constant derision of scientists and academics or anyone who learned something that isn't in the bible. The GOP is the party of willful ignorance and that's they way they like it.

For what it's worth Huckabee, Cruz, and Jindal all willingly appeared recently for a cuddle session with a radio pastor who wants all the homos killed Old Testament-style. The strain of malice/stupid runs deep now and will probably never go away. Why bother to fight the psycho kind of Muslims when they all have so much in common now? Why not team up and get the entire world on it's knees before Angry God if this what both groups so desperately want to happen?

Apparently Carson's managed in short order to surround himself with a web of really weird lies that's rapidly unravelling. His claims that he was hyper-violent as a kid (in which he says he tried to do things like stab a friend, bash someone with a rock, and even try to hit his own mom in the head with a hammer) and then got saved by Jesus have been found to have no foundation to them. The people allegedly involved in these so-called incidents are saying that none of that stuff happened at all. His latest one now is that he applied and was accepted to West Point, which is news to West Point because they say they have no records of any of that at all. Becoming problematic now for him, as his Bible-punching nonsense might not be enough now to overcome all the wild tales and fibbing he's been caught spreading.

Ted Cruz is not stupid by any measure. No, but anyone who wildly supports him probably isn't going to get an invite to join MENSA either. Animalistic cunning, which is what Cruz has, isn't the same as real intelligence anyway. Throwing endless amounts of bloody and raw meat to the base is one thing. Making a commitment to govern a country for the benefit of that country, and not solely for the purpose of waging some demented culture war on one's perceived hopelessly "evil" opponents, is something else altogether.

Thanos Thanos: No, but anyone who wildly supports him probably isn't going to get an invite to join MENSA either. "Cruz graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy[42] from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1992.[5][7] While at Princeton, he competed for the American Whig-Cliosophic Society's Debate Panel and won the top speaker award at both the 1992 U.S. National Debating Championship and the 1992 North American Debating Championship.[43] In 1992, he was named U.S. National Speaker of the Year, and with his debate partner David Panton won Team of the Year.[43] Cruz and Panton represented Harvard Law School at the 1995 World Debating Championship, but lost in the semi-finals to a team from Australia.[44][45][46] Princeton's debate team later named their annual novice championship after Cruz.[46]
After graduating from Princeton, Cruz attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995 with a Juris Doctor degree.[7][48] While at Harvard Law, he was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review, and executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review.[5] Referring to Cruz's time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, "Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant".[49][50][51][52] At Harvard Law, Cruz was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics.[11]
Cruz currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the Texas Review of Law and Politics.[53]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Cruz

BTW, everybody remembers we Canadians once voted in a guy who used to get advice from his dead dog, and currently we voted in a substitute drama teacher, right? Also let's remember the American genius in power just signed an agreement to give the nuclear bomb to a cabal of religious wackos dressed in pyjamas who believe their Messiah is a 1200 year old kid who's going to climb out of a well to lead them all to utopia if they bring about armageddon.

BartSimpson BartSimpson: Ted Cruz is not stupid by any measure. He's not, and neither is Ben Carson, which makes some of the things they say all that more surprising. Ted, you were once named the Top Speaker at a national debate championship, edited two journals while at Harvard Law School and were the first Hispanic clerk to a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Ben, you're probably the best surgeon of your generation. Lean on your strengths!

xerxes xerxes: They can't though. Fancy book learnin' is fer libruls Really? Let's see how that plays out in real life. OK, so here's the Liberal, Socialist, creator of the Progressive Caucus, Bernie Sanders dealing with confrontation in his campaign. Here's Ted Cruz being confronted. Which one do you want leading a country - pouty lip, or take charge and come out on top guy?
