The fires are so huge they've issued health warnings in Prince George because of the smoke blowing in.
Here in the Fort, you can barely see the other side of the lake, zero visibility after about 5 kms.
I'm hoping I misheard the radio say the fires in the Cariboo covered 485 sq miles!
This is what happens when you have a huge beetle kill and just flap your goddam lips and do nothing for 15 years!

My brother has property near Salmon Arm. Two fires so far this summer. One was actually on his property!

The WORST part of all this is I can't use the fancy new fire pit I just built in the backyard. It is 3/16 steel rolled in a two foot circle with a bottom and legs. Before rolling it, I cut it on the CNC plasma table. It has an American flag on one side (for USABabe), Canadian on the other, and the family name cut out of the remaining sides.

I bet it looks cool with a fire in there...
