I think that the Tories will form another coalition with the Liberal-Democrats and leave Labour looking in through the window, again.

No ... wait ...

... wrong goofy election and wrong forum!

DrCaleb DrCaleb:
I don't know yet, but I'm fairly certain who I won't vote for. The only campaign signs I see are Wildrose, so I don't know who all the candidates are yet or if they've even been chosen.

The last day to submit nominations was April 17, so whoever is running will be registered now with Elections Alberta.

DrCaleb DrCaleb:
So . .did anyone watch the debate?

I think Brian Jean was a robot who's voice chip malfunctioned. "We won't raise taxes . . . we won't raise taxes . . . we won't raise taxes". Boring.

Did David Swann even show up?

Prentice actually lowered my opinion of him. Not only the 'math is hard' comment to Ms. Notley, but when he thought the cameras were off at the end instead of shaking hands and patting shoulders, he just stormed off the stage like the big kids had given him a wedgie.

I hate to say, but Rachel Notley looked like the best leader in the pack.

Yeah Brian Jean was a one trick pony with his line," I'm the only one here who won't raise taxes."

Prentice had a few good moments, but for the most part, he spent the evening on the defense and was overshadowed by Notley.

Notley was the clear winner, but I was surprised neither Jean or Prentice called her on her party's proposed $15 minimum wage (totally crazy IMHO).

Swann would have been better staying at home and tweeting like Greg Clark from the Alberta Party did.

One of the better comments out there was that David Swann showed up to the debate with an onion on his belt.

IF I vote, and that's still a massive IF at this stage, I've decided to cause some damage and vote for the Dippers. Not because I'm for them or believe any of their schtick any more than I do from the PC's or WRA. Just as a protest and firm slap to the face of Albertan conservatism. The choice on the right is either between Tory corporatism/good ol' boy-ism/backroom grift & graft or WRA's angry-farmer back-to-the-1950's cut 'n' burn 'n' slash. None of these jokers give a damn about me so if I choose to participate I might as well go full retard and give the Dips a shot. At least their words are prettier, even if they're most likely as full of shit as anyone else out there.

Their leader looks like she'll steal your fucking soul if she looks at you.

Even the Sun had her as the winner of the debate, and I'm pretty sure you need a special password from head office to make the presses over there print anything positive about the NDP.

Well there you go, the Sun myth busted.

I have to take all your guy's word on it, I was left with either watching the leaders debate, or watching Stanley Cup playoff hockey, guess which one I chose.

$1:
Documents reveal new details of sole-source contracts to Tory-connected firm Navigator

Alberta Health staff knew they were breaching government rules by handing successive sole-source contracts to Navigator, the consulting firm whose senior executives help run Conservative party election campaigns, documents show.

Auditor General Merwan Saher has previously investigated the four contracts, which were issued in 2011 and 2012 and totalled nearly $220,000. In a report issued in October, Saher found former health minister Fred Horne personally handed the contracts to Navigator and that there was no justification for the sole-source contracts.

Documents obtained by CBC News through freedom of information, following Saher's report, reveal more details of those breaches, including back-dated contracts, expedited payment before the contracted work was completed, and senior bureaucrats acknowledging some of the contracts breached their own rules.

The documents also reveal Horne used his personal email to correspond directly with Navigator senior partner Jamie Watt about the contracts.

"It smells of corruption and cronyism, 100 per cent," Wildrose Leader Brian Jean said of the latest revelations. On Saturday, the Wildrose released new data which it said showed the Tory government spent nearly $1 billion on sole-source contracts in 2013 - 2014.
Brian Jean

"This is again another example of a line that doesn't exist between the PCs, the companies to which they sole-source contracts, the government bureaucracy and, frankly, the taxpayer's wallet," said Jean.

ROTFL

$1:
Jim Prentice defends PC election candidate convicted of soliciting prostitute

Alberta Premier Jim Prentice says a PC election candidate convicted of soliciting a prostitute is acceptable because he owned up to what he did.

Speaking on a provincewide radio talk show (CHQR-CHED), Prentice said Mike Allen took responsibility and pleaded guilty after he was caught in a sting operation while on government business in Minnesota in 2013.

Allen is the incumbent MLA for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo in next Tuesday’s election.

http://www.edmontonjournal.com/business ... story.html

And that is just another reason why the Alberta PC party is 3rd in the polls right now.

I personally don't think it should matter one bit if a candidate wants to look for a little extra "loving".

If they can't respect the marriage vows they swore, how can you expect them to respect the oath of office they swore? Mind you whores and politicians....loooooong history.

^^ That. I don't care if a person uses the services of a prostitute either. But conviction of an indictable offense will disqualify you for many jobs in today's security climate.

And with a prostitute, at least you negotiate the price first and everyone knows what's expected. With a politician you never know how much it's going to cost you to let them fuck you, and you never know for how long.
