I'm not sure who I want to vote for. I kind of want to see Prentice sink, and voting Wild Rose is the best case for that in Battle River-Wainwright.
Just be careful that you don't split the right vote - that's how Deron Bilous got elected in Edmonton in 2012.

Truthfully, I don't think it matters who is in charge during the downturn, not much you can do but ride out the storm. However, in the boom times I want someone in charge who will build the heritage fund significantly.
I think it does matter if we want to get off our reliance on resource royalties - anyone other than a right wing party will do that. The Wildrose have already promised not to raise ANY taxes and the PCs barely raised any. According to the PCs own numbers, we're still $9 billion+ below the next 'low tax' province in Canada.
We've tried the low tax haven thing for almost 30 years and where has it gotten us? Crumbling hospitals & roads, crowded schools and services that seem to get worse every year. IMHO, it's time for Albertans to either pony up for the services they want or simply privatize everything and let everyone pay for everything themselves.
I don't like paying taxes any more than anyone else, but I do understand that it is part of the social contract we have as Albertans (and Canadians) - you pay taxes and the government provides the services necessary for us to live and prosper.
I think we should have increased corporate taxes by at least one percent - Suncor made $2.7 BILLION last years and paying $27 million wouldn't make much of a difference off the bottom line, but makes a big one to Alberta. I also think income taxes should have gone up another percent or two as well. As much as most hate the PCs budget, I simply think it didn't go far enough to make much of a difference.

Other issues for me - Boost Speed limits on divided expressways, and outlaw photo radar except in school zones and parks.
Hate to burst your bubble, but I don't think any party is interested in either of those - although the PCs so far have promised not to employ photo radar themselves on provincial highways (although they allow municipalities to do so).
