I agree with you. I just wish our politics had stayed more Stelmach, less Kenney. More inclusive and thoughtful, less divisive and reactionary.
We're long past due to start isolating ourselves as much as we can from the rest of the country. If Kenney is right on anything he's right on this. We should have done the full-Quebec a long time ago and taken over every single thing we could have that are our right or obligation to do so under the constitution. Income taxes, pensions, etc. Hell, even start fucking around with the input and control over what immigrants can come into Alberta just like Quebec does. Full separation from working with Ottawa on anything, and an obstructionist agenda against anything the feds try that intrudes on us should be our default setting, and should have been since the dark days of Trudeau The Elder.
No point in participating in a scam when you're just going to be the loser at the end of it all, not with those "partners in Confederation" who have nothing but contempt for us. Kenney understands this and is obviously cunning enough to exploit these sentiments to the maximum.
